Saudi Arabia is the largest country on the Arabian Peninsula. The birthplace of Islam, the country is home to the holiest Islamic cities ofMecca and Medina. Tourist attractions in Saudi Arabia include the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah, famous for their historic monuments and skyscrapers, the Musmat Fort, the National Museum in Riyadh, Habalah Village, known for its well-preserved ancient houses, and Madain Saleh (cemetery), famous for its rare desert scenery and tombs with late Aramaic inscriptions.
Many international airlines operate direct flights to Jeddah and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) from Asia, Europe and Africa. There are no direct flights from USA or Canada. Regular ferry services connect Jeddah to Suez, Port Sudan and Musawwa (Eritrea). There are also regular bus services between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Syrian Arab Republic, Turkey and United Arab Emirates.
